Update on PizzaIDF

It is now a nearly three years since we formed PizzaIDF.org .

We continue to deliver Pizza and Soda to our active duty soldiers on behalf
of Israel's supporters, Jewish and non-Jewish, from many different
countries around the world. In addition to hundreds of thousands of slices
of pizza so far, we send out burgers and soup (hot in winter, cold in
summer) on a regular basis. We also send donuts for Hanuka, Honey and Honey
Cake for the soldiers' families at Rosh haShana, Fruit packages for Tu
biShvat, Kosher l'Pesach packages and of course, Mishloach Manot for Purim.

We will all be able to celebrate Purim properly because our soldiers will
be out there in the field, hard at work. Leaving politics aside, the
current situation has not lessened the soldiers' preparedness, and there
are many incidents, daily, some generally reported and many others only
reported by you and a few others.

Numerous thank-you letters and certificates, in addition to continuous
requests from units to be included in our deliveries, attest to the
popularity of our food items and their accompanying messages of gratitude
and support. The soldiers appreciate the meals and they appreciate knowing
that they have supporters around the world.

Distribution is not restricted geographically -- we reach soldiers from the
Golan in the north to Gaza in the south, around major trouble spots like
Shechem, Hevron and Ramallah, and numerous locations in between. The
soldiers receive pizza or burgers after a stint of guard duty, returning
from a long, arduous foot patrol, back to base after enemy action or
sitting in a tank on a cold, lonely night.

As deliveries are coordinated with the army, they pose no security threat
-- on the contrary, they are welcomed and appreciated by officers and
soldiers alike.

Many contributors have taken advantage of our service of sending
certificates to dedicate a delivery to relatives and friends, or celebrate
special occasions.

A gratifying aspect of our work has been the many children -- individuals,
classes and social groups -- who have sent pizza to the soldiers, usually
accompanied by drawings and letters, much to the delight of our troops. We
have included many messages on our site.

We are proud that our project has provided much needed income to more than
a dozen pizzerias and eateries. We work with local small businesses spread
across the areas near to where the soldiers serve. Some have even told us
that our orders are an important factor in keeping them operational.

In summary, PizzaIDF continues its distribution on behalf of many, many
wonderful people around the world.
