Jerusalem - Ma'an - Hamas holds military training operation at Fatah
military and presidential headquarters in Gaza. Fatah Spokesman Ahmad Abd
Ar-Rahman responded by calling the move "provocative" and a "clear response
to the initiative of President Abu Mazen for the national dialogue."
Abd Ar-Rahman continued, saying that "Hamas was always spreading rumors that
the presidential headquarters was going to be respected, and they were ready
to hand it over to Mahmoud Abbas but their meeting in the headquarters means
that they are provoking us and they don't respect the president's legitimacy
or his headquarters."
Abd Ar-Rahman called the meeting a "show against the legitimacy" of Fatah,
and accused those who participated in the meeting of "uttering bad and
abusive words" against his party.
According to Abd Ar-Rahman, these provocations are "increasing the state of
separation and struggle between the two factions, and are not helping the
Palestinian people to oppose the actions of the Israeli forces." Such
actions, he continued, aim at "destroying the national project."
He added that Hamas is ready to sell itself for Israel in order to keep
their domination over the Gaza Strip.
"Our people in Palestine and outside will continue the struggle for national
liberation and to get rid of Israel and the settlements in order to
establish an independent Palestine with Jerusalem its capital and to bring
back national unity and reconciliation," he concluded.
