Gaza - Ma'an - De facto Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh called the sixth round
of unity talks "difficult and stressful," after the Hamas delegation
returned from Cairo on Tuesday.

In his Wednesday commentary on the talks Haniyeh said the hardships faced at
the talks were the result of Fatah obstinacy and the party's insistence on
listening to interference from Israel and the United States.

Haniyeh accused Fatah of paying more attention to its "security commitments"
with Israel than the issue of political arrests , which Hamas members have
called the central issue 'from which all other issues will be resolved.'

The de facto Prime Minister gave the comments as he participated in a sit-in
held in Gaza City protesting the continued detention of more than 40 PLC
members in Israeli prisons.
