Abbas Receives American-Jewish Delegation in Ramallah

RAMALLAH, May 12, 2012 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Saturday received a
delegation of the American Jewish lobby group, J Street, in the presidential
headquarters in Ramallah.

He informed the delegation, headed by J Street Executive Director, Germy
Ben-Ami, on the latest peace developments following Abbas’ letter to Israeli
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Abbas said that the Palestinian side is committed to peace based on the
two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state
within 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He stressed that the Palestinian leadership will resume negotiations with
Israel if it approves the principle of the two-state solution and halts all
settlement activities in the Palestinian Territory, including East
Jerusalem.
