DAMASCUS, (SANA - Official Syrian news agency)- Lt. Gen. Mohammad Tareq
al-Khadraa, Chief of General Staff of the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA),
dismissed as completely groundless and untrue reports by some tendentious TV
channels on his defection from the Army along with other members.

Denouncing in the strongest terms these media fabrications as falling within
the framework of conspiring against Syria and Palestine, al-Khadraa, in a
statement on Saturday which SANA got a copy of, considered the promoting of
such false news as "a desperate attempt to sow sedition and discord and harm
the reputation of the Palestine Liberation Army."

The Chief of General Staff stressed his absolute adherence to the stances
stated in the name of the Army and in his name personally in terms of
standing by Syria, army, people and leadership, in loyalty to its unlimited
support of the Palestinian people's struggle and in commitment to its
pan-Arab approach in defense of the just Palestinian Cause and the Arab
issues against the Israeli aggression.

Lt. Gen. al-Khadraa expressed his permanent readiness to sacrifice for the
sake of Syria and Palestine until full victory and liberation of Palestine
is achieved, emphasizing his confidence in the wise leadership and bravery
of President Bashar al-Assad and total commitment to this leadership's
decisions.
