Sinai gunfire kills one soldier and leaves 4 injured

A soldier was killed and four injured after unidentified gunmen aimed at
their vehicle near the village of Hasna, in the center of Sinai, on
Saturday, according to security sources.

The security sources said that unidentified gunmen shot heavy fire at an
armed forces vehicle. When the driver swerved to avoid the shooting, the
vehicle turned upside down, leading to the death of Private Mohamed Mahmoud
al-Khatib and the injury of the other four.

The police and army are out in force combing central Sinai in an attempt to
find the gunmen.
