TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Envoy to Baku Mohammad Baqer Bahrami in a meeting with
Azeri President Ilham Aliyev underlined Tehran's enthusiasm for the further
development of relations with Azerbaijan.

During the meeting on Wednesday, Bahrami noted that the relations between
Iran and Azerbaijan Republic are constantly developing. However, despite the
good and dynamic relations, there is still great potential for the further
development of ties, he said.

The Iranian ambassador also expressed Iran's readiness for boosting ties
with Baku in all fields.

President Aliyev, for his part, thanked the Iranian ambassador's positive
role in expansion of bilateral relations.

Aliyev stressed the need for the further development of ties between the two
countries in all fields.

Azeri Foreign Minister Elmar Mohammad Yarov was also present in the meeting.

Earlier, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in meeting with Azeri Defense
Minister Safar Abiyev here in Tehran had lauded the two countries' friendly
ties, and renewed Iran's support for Azerbaijan's independence, progress and
territorial integrity.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran always supports the independence, grandeur,
and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan," Ahmadinejad said
in March.

He said Tehran-Baku relations are deep-rooted and brotherly, and added,
"These relations would never be affected by events occurring in certain time
junctures."

The president emphasized that care should be taken not to let the enemies
and the satins to influence the two countries' relations.

In relevant remarks in March, the visiting Azeri defense minister underlined
that his country will not allow enemies to use Azerbaijan's soil as a launch
pad for attacking other countries, specially Iran.
