Update: Israel allowing Hamas to have last "tit" in "tat for tat" - out of
desperate hope for quiet for quiet

Israel Radio Reshet Bet reported on the 6 PM news bulletin that in recent
hours Israel has declined to respond to continuing attacks from the Gaza
Strip.

The idea is apparently out of the desperate hope that if the Jewish State
allows Hamas to pummel it for a few hours that Hamas will consider itself
the victor and return the "quiet for quiet" arrangement.

While Israel is now allowing Hamas to attack its civilian population
without any response, there is no doubt that if and when "quiet for quiet"
is restored that administration officials will claim that Hamas decided to
return to "quiet for quiet" because of Israel's deterrent strength.

These officials will not consider that Hamas is not actually deterred but
instead is simply interested in returning to its program of building up its
offensive capabilities.

Under "quiet for quiet" Israel promises not to interfere with the Hamas
military industries as long as the frequency of attacks from Gaza is
reasonably low.
