Hamas affiliated poll of Gaza Strip 30.6% expect military confrontation with Israel soon

If there is Palestinian Elections today:

The Fateh movement hardly precedes the Hamas movement; Ismael Haniya
precedes in the presidency elections

Results of the Poll:
- (30.8%) will chose Fateh Movement in the upcoming elections.
- (73.6%) are satisfied with the performance of the Resistance.
- (44.4%) believe the Coalition/unity Government is not serious to
pay salaries for the Gaza employees.
- (41.0%) think the relation between Hamas and Egypt will not
improve in the coming future.
- (29.4%) will elect Ismail Haniya as President to the State of
Palestine.
- (31.0%) believe the disputes between Fateh and Hamas will
continue.

The House of Wisdom Poll Center conducted a survey between 7 & 10 of
September 2014; the survey was done in random areas for 500 persons from
different ages (+18). 30.8% in the Gaza Strip will chose Fateh Movement in
the upcoming legislative and presidential elections.

The results of the survey indicate that the majority of Palestinians in Gaza
support the Resistance to continue protecting the Palestinians (67.8%).

The aggression on Gaza:

- (73.6%) of the surveyed Palestinians see that the resistant
movements withstood and resisted the Israeli Occupation Forces, while
(3.6%) see the opposite, and (20.6%) think a limited victory was made by the
resistant movements, (2.2%) abstained from answering the question.

- (67.8%) of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip wants the resistant
movement to continue protect the Palestinians in the future from any
aggression, while (7.2%) refuse, and (22.4%) want only the resistant
movements to resist in these days not in the future, (2.6%) abstained from
answering the question.

- (41.4%) are not satisfied of what the indirect negotiation in
Cairo reached, while (17.6%) expressed their satisfaction on what was
agreed, and (21%) expressed a limited satisfaction of the negotiations,
(20%) abstained from answering the question.

- (30.6%) expect a soon military confrontation with Israel, while
(24%) don’t expect that, and (21.2%) see it possible to happen, (24.2%)
abstained from answering the question.

- (57%) believe Israel will not abide by what was agreed in Cairo,
while (4.8%) believe it will, and (14.2%) see Israel may abide by, (24%)
abstained from answering the question.

The Unification of the Palestinians:

Question: “Did the Israeli aggression unified the Palestinians and ended
their differences?”

The answers: (26%) said Yes – (32.2%) said No - (21.8%) said yes to some
extent – (20%) said don’t know.

The Performance of the Coalition/Unity Government:

(41.8%) believe the Coalition/Unity government can’t hold the responsibility
on rebuilding the Gaza Strip, while (28.2%) think that the government is
trying with all it possibilities to rebuild Gaza, (12.4%) believe the
government is serious and able to rebuild Gaza, (17.6%) abstained from
answering the question.

Question: Is the Unity government serious about paying salaries for Gaza
employees?
(44.4%) think it is not serious, while (7.8%) think it is serious, (18.4%)
think the government has the desire to end the salaries problem, and (29.4%)
abstained from answering the question.

The differences and disputes between Fateh & Hamas movements:

Question: Do you agree there is a shadow government in Gaza?
The answers: (22.4%) say yes there is, (20.2%) see that the government in
Gaza is working normally, while (26%) abstained from answering the question.

Question: Do expect coming disputes between Fateh & Hamas?
The answers: (31%) Yes, (21.2%) No, (18.6%) expect little amount of
disputes, while (29.2%) abstained from answering the question.

The upcoming elections:

Question: Whom you will choose if there are legislative & Presidential
elections?
The answers: (30.8%) will choose Fateh movement, (30%) will choose Hamas
movement, (21.4%) said they will not participate in the elections, while
(17.8%) said they will choose personalities not from Fateh or Hamas.

Question: Whom you will choose for Presidency?
The answers: Ismael Haniya from Hamas movement got the high votes (29.4%),
then Mr. Marwan Al-Bargouthi (28%) of the votes, while President Abbas got
(10.2%) of the votes, (32.4%) said they will choose a different candidate.

The Relation between Hamas & Egypt:

Question: Will the relations between Hamas and Egypt improve?
The answers: (41%) No, (31.6%) believe there is a true desire to improve
relation, (13.2%) believe the relations will improve this year; while
(14.2%) answer they don’t know.

Methodology

The survey was conducted in the Gaza Strip governorates, a random sample of
people and places were selected by the House of Wisdom Poll center based on
scientific methodology, 30 locations were used distributed in the Gaza Strip
as follow: (3) areas in the Northern governorate, (8) areas in Gaza city,
(6) areas in the middle area governorate, (7) areas in Khan Younis city and
(6) areas in Rafah city. The errors in the survey were (3.1%) and a
percentage of acceptance of the survey (94.7%).
