Maan item tells half the story: Israel bans Muslims from Ibrahimi Mosque Thursday, Friday

[Dr. Aaron Lerner - IMRA: The item published by the independent Palestinian
news agency Maan fails to mention that just as the "Ibrahimi Mosque" (aka
the only intact Second Temple Period structure in existence located over the
burial place of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, etc. - that is to say a structure
that considerably pre-dates either Islam or the Islamic conquest of the
area) is open in its entirety exclusively to Jews for Rosh Hashanah and
other Jewish holidays it is also open in its entirety exclusively to Moslems
for various Moslem holidays. Hijazi Abu Sneina doesn't, of course, complain
to the media when it is closed to Jewish worshippers.
By the way - it isn't "open to Israeli settlers" - it is "open to Jews".]

HEBRON (Ma'an) -- The Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron will be closed to Muslim
worshipers on Thursday and Friday, an official at the mosque told Ma'an
Sunday.

Hijazi Abu Sneina told Ma'an the mosque would be open to Israeli settlers
during the two days of Rosh Hashanah, or Jewish New Year, but closed to
Muslims.

The Ibrahimi Mosque, believed to be the burial place of the prophet Abraham,
is located in central Hebron, a frequent site of tensions due to the
presence of 500 Israeli settlers in the Old City.

A 1997 agreement split Hebron into areas of Palestinian and Israeli control.

More than 500,000 Israeli settlers live in settlements across the West Bank
and East Jerusalem, in contravention of international law.
