The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Cyber Bureau today
(December 18, 2014) inaugurated an innovative project in cooperation with
the Check Point Software Technologies to build a mechanism to detect and
identify cyber attacks on the Foreign Ministry's missions throughout the
world.

Foreign Ministry Director General Nissim Ben-Shetrit, National Cyber Bureau
Head Dr. Eviatar Matania, and the Founder, Chairman and CEO Check Point
Software Technologies Gil Shwed attended the launch.

The project is the result of tireless work by the various partners over the
course of two years, with the deployment of a network of special sensors and
a processing center which will analyze in real time the attempted cyber
attacks in Israel and abroad. The analysis of these warnings will be backed
up by the abilities of the national Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT)
which will amalgamate the information with other date sources.

MFA Director General Nissim Ben-Shetrit: "The importance of the project is
in the creation a common language to address the cyber threat on a national
level, and thus our to empower the ICT systems that support the diplomatic
work of the State of Israel."

Cyber Bureau Head Dr. Eviatar Matania: "The project is an important
milestone in the long-term technological work of the National Cyber Bureau
to develop advanced capabilities to protect our national assets. The project
will lay the foundation for the government cyber protection center which
will soon be established, and will place the Foreign Ministry in the
forefront of readiness in the age of cyber threats. The project proves the
necessity and the potential of qualitative cooperation in the field of cyber
defense between the government and the leading technological companies in
the field."
