Hamas: PLO's National Council neither legal, nor binding

GAZA CITY (Alresalah.ps) -- Senior leader of Hamas Hassan Youssef said the
Islamic Resistance Movement does not recognize the meeting of the PLO's
National Council, which is due to be held in Ramallah next September.

The meetings of the National Council are neither legal, nor binding to Hamas
or any Palestinian faction, said Youssef. He stressed that Hamas, alongside
with the Palestinian parties, do recognize the PLO's Interim Leadership
Framework as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinians.

The most proper way to tackle the national issues is through consensus, not
exclusivity, said Youssef.

"We are not obligated to any political results carried out by the PA," said
Youssef. He criticized the meeting through the video conference technology.

The meetings of the National Council seeks to encompass certain persons and
to exclude other persons, added he.
