TEHRAN, Nov. 20 (MNA) –Following the meeting with Iran’s VP Sattari, the
Russian visiting deputy PM Dmitry Rogozin recounted the bilateral agreements
reached.

Joints companies are expected to be formed to facilitate Tehran-Moscow space
and satellite cooperation, said visiting Deputy Prime Minister of Russia
Dmitry Rogozin in Tehran on Wednesday.

He made the remarks at the end of the second meeting of the joint high
commission of Iran and Russia which was held in the evening on Wednesday
co-chaired by Rogozin and Sorena Sattari, Iran’s vice president for science
and technology.

The already existing joint commissions have improved relations in realms of
economy, trade, and industry and now it is necessary to establish a high
commission on technological cooperation, to broaden our joint endeavors in
high tech fields, asserted the Russian official.

He described the expansion of ties a turning point signifying the
enhancement of bilateral ties from normal to friendly status.

It is usual that countries are unaware of the progress made in their
neighborhood and look for new technologies in far areas, but now Iran and
Russia are neighbors aware of their capabilities, noted Rogozin.

The Russian deputy prime minister reiterated that Russia has always been
seeking self-sufficiency and developed industrial and scientific potentials
in a way that it owns its unique school of science.

We mostly invest on areas that secure that the future of our country, and
that’s why we have products to be exported to other countries, clarified the
Russian deputy PM.

He also commented on anti-Russian sanctions posed since 2014 and added that
the embargo has pushed the Russians to more self-sufficiency and the
scientists have been awakened.

He generalized the idea of sanctions and self-sufficiency to Iran and
affirmed that the anti-Iran sanctions meant to bend Iranians however Iranian
made great scientific and industrial breakthroughs.

I was invited by Iran’s vice president for science and technology and I
visited Isfahan factory of air-planes, which makes civilian planes, and I
have to say that I deeply respect the young Iranian scientists for all their
achievements, stated Rogozin.

The Russian official referred to sanctions against both countries and
asserted that Iran and Russia can cooperate in scientific and technologic
fields.

Along with commonalities in international principles and cooperation, we can
have joint objectives in science and technology, said the Russian
politician.

According to the Russian official scientific ties of Tehran and Moscow will
be developed in the fields of space and aeronautics, nanotechnology,
biological and medical technology, energy, and information technology.

On the space and aeronautics division, the two countries have reached the
contract stage for having remote sensing satellites and space navigation
systems.
