Revolutionary poll finding: 57.2% of Israeli Arabs: Jews have same or
greater bond to land as Palestinians

Dramatic shift in the attitude of Israeli Arabs towards Jews in Israel?

While 72.2% of Israeli Jews believe that Jews have a stronger bond to the
land than Palestinians, only 27% of Israeli Arabs claim that Palestinians
have a stronger bond to the land than the Jews.

Here are the poll results:

religious, and cultural bond to the land and the Palestinians’ historical,
religious, and cultural bond to the land are equally strong?

Israeli Arabs: 57.2% Jews have same or greater bond to land as
Palestinians
41.3% Agree

Israel/Palestine
15.9% Disagree—the Jews have a stronger bond to the land

Israeli Jews: 30.9% Palestinians has the same or greater bond to the land as
Jews

The Peace Index is a project of the Evens Program for Mediation and Conflict
Resolution at Tel Aviv University and the Guttman Center for Public Opinion
and Policy Research of the Israel Democracy Institute. This month's survey
was conducted by telephone on December 29-30, 2015, by the Midgam Research
Institute. The survey included 600 respondents, who constitute a
representative national sample of the entire adult population of Israel aged
18 and over. The maximum measurement error for the entire sample is ±4.1% at
a confidence level of 95%. Statistical analysis was done by Ms. Yasmin
Alkalay.
