Weekly Commentary: Turkey coup warning against ceteris paribus based

As Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan tells it, the military coup in Turkey
could have very well succeeded last Friday. It was literally a matter of
minutes.

That's the Middle East.

When you turn on the radio to hear the news pretty much anything is
possible.

Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, you name it.

And the Palestinians!

Now don't get me wrong.

That doesn't mean that we don't work with the current actors.

Of course we do. And we should.

But we must do it in the knowledge that the actors we are dealing with
tonight may not necessarily be around in the morning.

Simply put: anyone who suggests that Israel embrace arrangements that rely
on our neighbors to monitor, supervise, inspect, patrol, control or do
anything else between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea without
thinking through what would happen if a participating neighbor was
overthrown by elements hostile to Israel is profoundly reckless.
