Dr. Aaron Lerner - IMRA: When the organizers of yet another "Brass for
Withdrawal" group invited all Israelis to attend the memorial rally for
Prime Minister Rabin (who was assassinated shortly after he gave a policy
address in the Knesset in which he explained that his goal was not to have a
sovereign Palestinian state, never to divide Jerusalem and a series of other
positions that "Commanders for Israel's Security " and others claiming to
follow PM Rabin's legacy reject) even a minister from Bayit Yehudi attended.
But now the organizers claim that the very act of attending the rally
constitutes embracing their program and rejecting alternatives.
So - where those attending the rally from the national camp playing the role
of "useful idiots"?

Subject: 85,000 Israelis, An Important Benchmark.
Saturday night's Rabin Memorial Rally – the first ever sponsored by
Commanders for Israel's Security – was a landmark in terms of CIS presence
on the public scene.
Over 85,000 people in attendance.
Over 1 million watching in Israel and worldwide.
Over 2,000 media references.
Those in attendance represented a broad cross-section of society –
culturally, religiously, and politically, importantly including audiences
never before seen at Rabin memorial rallies.
Together with our co-sponsor Darkenu, we sent a clear message: Israel’s
moderates can eschew partisanship and embrace a common mission, mobilizing
en masse to accomplish important outcomes.
It was all encapsulated in two battle cries:
"No annexation. Separation!"
"Pointed debate - yes; Incitement and violence - no!"
