Weekly Commentary: Israel Can't Afford To Make Critical Security Investments
Contingent On USA Funding

Israel today finds itself in an unprecedented race against time developing
and implementing technologies that address the rapidly evolving threats
facing the Jewish State.

We are spending money.

And it’s the nature of leading edge projects that they are buried in the
budget out of sight.

But, judging from our track record to date, I fear that the timing to
complete the cycle from development through full operational deployment may
be dependent on the receipt of American funding.

We simply can't afford to wait for American funding.

And we most certainly can't wait for our enemies to effectively use
technologies against us to convince us to spend the money to address the
threats.

Yes. We are talking about a lot of money. But as a percentage of Israel's
GDP it’s a pittance.

The question isn't if we can afford to spend the money.

The real question is if we can afford to bear the costs of the catastrophe
we may face if we fail to have technologies developed AND fully deployed
that address the very serious threats we are now facing.
