Reporter Motti Gilat gave details on his scoop yesterday that the head of
the State Comptroller’s Permits Committee, retired judge Oni Habash,
resigned from his post on Saturday, citing “political pressure” as a reason
for his decision.
Speaking on Reshet Bet this morning he explained that it was "hinted to him"
that the "political pressure" was in the form of media criticism of his
recent decision rejecting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s request to
raise funds to cover his legal fees in the ongoing corruption cases through
wealthy donors - including family members.
