PRESIDENT PERES TO HONOR 30 YEARS OF ARIEL

The press is advised that President Shimon Peres will be attending, as guest
of honor, the celebrations to mark the 30th anniversary of the city of
Ariel.
The President will address the city and the people of Ariel, and
congratulate them for their achievements in building a prosperous city from
the very beginning.
The main event will take place on 4th June 2008, at 20:00, in Park Hna'al in
Ariel.

Ariel Mayor Ron Nachman has expressed his appreciation, on behalf of the
citizens of the city, to the President for this symbolic visit and gesture
as confirming the "consensus about the existence of Ariel".

Conversely, "Shlom Achshav" (Peace Now) has received approval from the
police to demonstrate, in Ariel, against the participation of the president
in the event.
