Hamas acquires secure radio technology

Jane's Defense Weekly reported on 17 June 2008 that the leadership of the
Palestinian Islamic Resistance in Gaza (Hamas) has acquired new wireless
technology to improve stealth communications in the Gaza Strip.

Israel Radio reported this information this morning, noting that the cost
per unit of these 51 kilometer range Taiwanese made scrambled cellular
phones is $2,000 and that the Hamas force is being transformed into a
regular army.

Thanks to the ongoing Israeli approach ("let's forget about tomorrow for
tomorrow never comes") it can be expected that Israel will postpone the
inevitable massive operation against Hamas to a time and place of Hamas'
choosing at a cost in Israeli casualties considerably greater than if action
had been taken at an appropriate time.
