Anti-Zionist Neturei Karta Participates In Israel Civil Defense Exercise

Maariv correspondent Amir Buchtov reports in the 23 October edition that
hundreds of ultra-orthodox, including members of the rabidly anti-Zionist
Neturei Karta, participated in a civil defense exercise in Jerusalem last
week.

The exercise simulated war conditions with Israel under attack from many
different fronts and over 3,500 units of blood contributed by the
ultra-orthodox community to meet the critical shortage/

In the simulation, a blood collection center was set up in a school within
the Jerusalem ultra-orthodox community and hundred of ultra-orthodox lined
up to contribute blood drawn by reservists called up under the emergency
orders.

The participation of ultra-orthodox communities in the exercise was thanks
to discussions held with the rabbinical leaders of these communities with
the cooperation of Deputy Minister of Health Yakov Litzman (United Torah
Judaism).
