PM Netanyahu to Visit the Czech Republic and Attend Round of
Inter-Governmental Consultations

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will tomorrow (Thursday), 17.5.12, hold a
one-day working visit to the Czech Republic (Prague)

. The visit will be in the framework of the Israeli-Czech
inter-governmental consultations, the first meeting having been held in
September of last year in Jerusalem

Prime Minister Netanyahu will meet with his Czech counterpart Petr Necas,
and with Czech President Vaclav Klaus, and will visit the synagogue and
Jewish cemetery in Prague. Government ministers will meet with their Czech
counterparts; a joint meeting of the two Governments will be held following
the meetings. Prime Ministers Netanyahu and Necas will sign a joint
declaration emphasizing the two countries' historic partnership, strong
mutual support and the aspiration to further strengthen the close relations
between the Czech and Jewish peoples, which are based on a 1,000-year-old
bond

Among the agreements to be signed during the visit are: Enhancing foreign
affairs and security cooperation, advancing bilateral trade and tourism, and
advancing cooperation in public security, the war on terrorism, home front
defense and emergency assistance. Cooperation agreements will also be
signed in the fields of transportation, social welfare, construction,
culture and education, including increasing bilateral youth exchanges,
investment in higher education and Holocaust education via teacher training
at Yad Vashem.
