FM Liberman briefs Israeli ambassadors on the situation in Gaza

FM Liberman instructed the ambassadors to work directly with administration
heads in their respective countries and provide information for domestic
public opinion, in order to garner maximum support for Israel's actions
against the rocket terror from Gaza.

(Communicated by the Foreign Minister’s Bureau)

Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Liberman today (Thursday 17 July 2014)
held a video conference briefing with Israeli ambassadors around the world.

FM Liberman told the ambassadors that reports on a cease-fire supposedly
beginning tomorrow (Friday) morning are premature and do not reflect
reality. FM Liberman noted that he had discussed the situation with Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who stated that he was unaware of a cease-fire
initiative.

FM Liberman instructed the ambassadors to work directly with administration
heads in their respective countries and provide information for domestic
public opinion, in order to garner maximum support for Israel's actions
against the rocket terror from Gaza. The foreign minister further instructed
the diplomats to present the data regarding the attempted tunneling
infiltration into Israel this morning as well as the other infiltration
attempts over the past few weeks, and to emphasize that Hamas does not only
launch rockets but also attempts to carry out all types of murderous
terrorist acts, regardless of time or manner.

FM Liberman told the ambassadors that it was up to them to make it clear
that no country in the world, including the one they serve, would be
prepared to accept even a single day of rocket launchings aimed at its
civilians. This, while the citizens of Israel have been absorbing these
launchings for 14 years – launchings that are now able to reach almost all
the regions of the country.

FM Liberman instructed the ambassadors to specifically emphasize information
regarding the firing from Gaza, from which Israel disengaged after
evacuating all the settlements there and returning to the 1967 borders up to
the last millimeter, as demanded by the international community, which is
why all countries must now absolutely support any appropriate Israeli
military action.

In addition, FM Liberman instructed the ambassadors to distribute the
pictures in which Israeli kindergarten children are seen lying flat on the
floor in an attempt to find cover in their kindergarten during a "Color Red"
alert, and to explain that Israeli children are no different from other
children around the world, they too deserve an enjoyable, non-threatening
summer vacation.

FM Liberman asked the ambassadors to stress that we are fighting gangs of
terrorists that use their own civilians in Gaza as human shields, launch
their rockets from population centers such as schools, hospitals and
mosques, and call upon all countries to unite against these terrorists that
not only desire the destruction of Israel, but are willing to cause the
destruction of their own people.

FM Liberman updated the ambassadors on the discovery of 20 missiles hidden
in an UNRWA school in Gaza. Following the report, UNRWA personnel who were
summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the report and
apologized to Israel for the incident.

FM Liberman advised the ambassadors that Israel will do everything in its
power to end this reign of rocker terror, and in order to do so it will do
everything required on the military level. He added that he expects each and
every one of them to do everything required to maximize support for Israel
in the international arena .
