Terror Cell Plotting to Attack Joseph's Tomb Arrested

Cleared for release: ISA and IDF arrested a terror cell for plotting an
attack against Israeli civilians at Joseph Tomb. The cell planned to plant
IEDs and fire towards the worshipers at Josephs Tomb. The cell received
directives from Rafat Mohamed Darwish, an operative of the Palestinian
Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip. Darwish is responsible for connecting the
PIJ in the Gaza Strip and the Judaea and Samaria Region. In this case,
Darwish was in charge of arming the cell in order to execute the attack.

Members of the cell arrested:

Nisim Muhamad Ramdan Rashid Damiri ('85) is a resident of Tulkarm. Damiri
has been previously arrested on multiple occasions and associated with
"Tanzim" militant group.
Muhamad Mufak Rafik Damiri ('92) is a resident of Tulkarm refugee camp.
Damiri served as a Palestinian policeman.
Yasir Gaudet Abed Zaruri ('90) is a resident of Nablus. Zarui was been
previously arrested and is a Hamas operative.
Aduen Padel Hassan Nazel ('91) is a resident of Qabatiya. Nazel is a
Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative.

During the investigation it was revealed that each member of the cell held a
specific position; acquiring weapons, intelligence gathering and executing
the attack. The residents of Nablus and Qabatiya were in charge acquiring
the weapons, training and logistics, while the residents of Tulkarm were
responsible for executing the attack. Nisim Damiri was planning to execute
the attack and Muhamad Damiri gathered intelligence information regarding
the worshipers' activities in Joseph's Tomb.

In order to prepare for the attack Zaruri admitted to agreeing to teach
Nisim Damiri how to prepare an IED. During the investigation Nazel revealed
he was contacted by Darwish from the Gaza Strip, who requested he supply the
cell with weapons for the attack.

The case has been transferred to the Military Court in the in the Samaria
Region in order to indict the four cell operatives.

The investigation revealed the clear and continued intent of operatives in
the Gaza Strip to recruit terrorists as well as direct and lead terror
activities in the Judea and Samaria Region.
