Fatah Militant Leader in Gaza: Fatah Has Lost Its Path, Palestine Will Not

Abu Ahmad, commander of the Nidal Al-'Amoudi Battalion of the Al-Aqsa
Martyrs' Brigades in Gaza, said that Fatah "went astray when it laid down
its weapons in those bygone times – when it entered the Oslo Accords" and
added that "as long as Fatah and the national enterprise are alive,
Palestine must be liberated through the might of its fighters, and not
through futile negotiations." Speaking on December 31 on Alkofiya TV, a
Palestinian channel affiliated with Muhammad Dahlan, Abu Ahmad called upon
all Fatah leaders to "heal our wounds and unite our ranks, toward an all-out
confrontation with the occupation."

"Abu Ahmad": The Fatah movement, with its leaders, its rebels, and its free
men, always defends the national Palestinian enterprise. I'd like to say
that Fatah has always sacrificed the very best of its sons and leaders. We,
in this glorious battalion, draw our strength, our notions, and our path
from these giants. We are the defenders of this enterprise, and we are the
sons of this pure and noble nation. Therefore, we shall place this national
enterprise in the hands of great and free leaders alone. Fatah is a
liberation movement, not [just] a ruling political party. It will constitute
a vigorous revolution as long as the occupation weighs heavily on our lands.
We shall never lay down our weapons, no matter how many conspire against us.
We shall remain loyal to the legacy of the martyrs. Rest assured, my
brother, that as long as Fatah and the national enterprise are alive,
Palestine must be liberated through the might of its fighters, and not
through futile negotiations here or there.

The Fatah movement lost its right path when it laid down its weapons in
those bygone times, when it entered the Oslo Accords. That is when it began
to go astray. But we, with the will of our sons, our fighters, and the
resolution of the strongest cadres and fighters of the Fatah movement, shall
restore it to the right path, Allah willing. It is our conviction that only
the gun can reunite the Fatah movement. We, in the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade,
always call upon every leader and official to do what his mind and his
conscience dictate, and not to act out of blind hatred toward his brothers -
whether they are Fatah members or not - but to focus all his efforts on
bringing the Fatah movement back together, rather than dividing it. The
basic guiding principle should be that Fatah is about brotherhood, love, and
giving. This call, from the weapons, from the sons of the armed struggle,
from the members of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, goes out to all the
leaders of the Fatah movement: Let us heal our wounds and unite our ranks,
toward an all-out confrontation with the occupation, in order to exhaust its
economy, its morale, its culture, its military, and its people. We shall not
let this enemy pay a small price. We shall make it pay dearly as long as it
remains on our land.
