PM Netanyahu on Judea and Samaria at Opening Ceremony for the Adam Divider/Interchange in the Binyamin Regional Council Area

As long as I am Prime Minister, not even one Jew will be uprooted from his
home. Not only will they not be uprooted from their homes, they will build
more homes.
PM Netanyahu and Transportation Minister Katz Attend Opening Ceremony for
the Adam Divider/Interchange in the Binyamin Regional Council Area
(Communicated by the Prime Minister's Media Adviser)

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz,
today (Tuesday, 11 December 2018), attended the opening ceremony for the
Adam interchange in the Binyamin Regional Council area.

Prime Minister Netanyahu:

"I would like to begin my remarks by referring to the severe shooting attack
that took place near Ofra on Sunday. I send my wishes for a quick and full
recovery to the wounded, including – of course – Shira Ish-Ran and her baby
who is fighting for his life. We are all praying from the depths of our
hearts for an improvement in his condition.

This act of terrorism, like the others, teaches the depth of our enemies'
hatred toward us, the Jews and the Israelis. They have no moral constraints
in attacking innocents. We will pursue those responsible for the attack and
we will make them pay.

We will prove to them that their desire to uproot us from our land will meet
a fortified wall. They want to uproot us from here, but they will not do so.
As long as I am Prime Minister, not even one Jew will be uprooted from his
home. Not only will they not be uprooted from their homes, they will build
more homes.

Our ancestors were here, in this place, thousands of years ago – names like
Geva Binyamin, Michmash, Ofra and Anatot take us directly to Biblical times.
These places are in the heart of our history, from 3,000 years ago, from the
kingdom of Saul and afterwards the kingdom of Judah. These places come to us
directly from the Tanakh and are the heart of our homeland and we will
continue to strengthen settlement in it.

This is what we are doing today. We are opening a new interchange, which
will – of course – be welcome news for the residents of the area. The
Hizme-Adam route, which has been onerous to drivers on a daily basis, is
changing. This will facilitate a significant easing of traffic congestion to
and from Jerusalem.

We are not stopping here. We will yet complete the paving of bypass roads,
the widening of lanes and the improvement of infrastructures. There is a
combined transportation-security aspect here.

We are making yet another great link. While we are joining the country
geographically, we are also joining the present to the future. Today and in
this place we are doing something else, we are also joining the present to
the past. Our ancestors walked here and took in this view of these valleys
and these hills. The greatest dramas in the history of our people and of
humanity took place here in this place; therefore, we are also joining our
past to our future and this is a very great privilege.

Our generation has a great privilege. Our parents' generation restored what
had been lost and we are ensuring that what has been restored will be
progress for future generations, will live forever and will ensure the
eternity of Israel."

The interchange project is expected to significantly reduce traffic
congestion on Route #60, which is a main road in Judea and Samaria. The NIS
70 million project began approximately three years ago in cooperation with
Netivei Yisrael, the Civil Administration and the Ministry of
Transportation.

Also attending today's event were Netivei Yisrael Chairman Oded Shamir,
Netivei Yisrael Managing Director Nissim Peretz, Civil Administration
Director Brig.-Gen. Ben-Hur Achvat, Binyamin Regional Council Chairman
Yisrael Gantz and other senior officials.
