Dear President Trump,

Mahmoud Abbas has gone out of his way to reject and ridicule your plan.

And then the Arab League rejected it.

The classic Trump response to these developments would be to show Abbas that
there's a cost to his intransegience.

A cost which illustrates that time is not on his side.

That the longer he drags his feet the worse the deal.

Instead we had your son-in-law's bizarre reaction: sure he slammed Abbas,
but then he begged Abbas to trash your plan's map and propose his own
borders.

And then we were threatened that there would be consequences if we didn't
sit still.

I daresay that in your entire life of wheeling and dealing you NEVER
countered an overt rejection by pleading for a counteroffer.

The classic Trump response would have Israel applying Israeli law last week
to the Jordan Valley and other areas to show Abbas just how much his error
cost.

To be clear: your "Vision" includes an area kept up for grabs for 4 years as
an incentive for the Palestinians to come to the table. And that area will
still exist even If Israel were to apply Israeli law to all settlement blocs
and Israeli communities.

So the "negotiations ball" would most certainly remain in play.

But with Abbas painfully aware that time is clearly not on his side.

Mr. Trump, your Israeli friend's political survival could very well hinge on
Israeli law being applied to the Jordan Valley etc. BEFORE the elections.

Binyamin Netanyahu knows this, but he is apparently so terrified of angering
you that he'd rather try to make do with pathetic remarks about preparing
maps "soon" than taking his - and our nations - destiny in his hands.

So here I am appealing to you rather than the leader of my own nation.

Its not too late.

Wake up.
