Weekly Commentary: Mr. Netanyahu - Make The Most of Coming 13 Months As PM

Instead of Screwing Around

Dr. Aaron Lerner 8 August 2020

Dear Binyamin Netanyahu

The night of 14 April 2021 we will have the privilege to celebrate the

longest continuous period of Jewish sovereignty since Joshua crossed the

River Jordan.

And that supremely significant date falls within the over 13 months during

which you continue to serve as prime minister according to the deal you made

with Blue White.

W O W ! ! ! !

You have so much to accomplish in this critical period:

1. Restoring the economy: Appended to the budget waiting for approval is a

series of dramatic measures to expedite catapulting our economy out of the

disaster caused by COVID-19. ALL of these initiatives can be part of a

2020-2021 budget as committed to in the deal. These programs promise

TANGIBLE results already within the 13 month you remain PM.

2. Exploiting the "Annexation Window": Application of Israeli law in Judea

and Samaria before the window of opportunity slams shut. Technically we HAVE

America's agreement to do this as the official position of the Trump

administration is that this is our decision to make. Son-in-law

notwithstanding the last thing candidate Trump is going to do before the

elections is punish us if we do this.

3. Preparing for and dealing with post election America - be it Biden or a

2nd term Trump.

And that's besides getting our handling of the medical side of COVID-19 on

track and addressing the myriad of security challenges and opportunities we

face.

I am confident that you have it in you to achieve so much in this crucial

period that Likud will have a decisive victory in snap elections at the end

of 2021 even with Gantz holding the PM title on election day.

So stop screwing around wasting time on schemes to avoid that Gantz will

serve as prime minister for a few months at the end of 2021.
