Poll: Reminding Israeli Jews of policy difference between Gantz and Netanyahu on Jordan Valley does not impact voting pattern

Poll: Reminding Israeli Jews of policy difference between Gantz and
Netanyahu on Jordan Valley does not impact voting pattern
Dr. Aaron Lerner 18 February 2020

There is a difference between Benjamin Netanyahu's position and Benny
Gantz's position on applying sovereignty over the Jordan Valley: Benny Gantz
argues that Jordan's consent must be obtained for the process and Benjamin
Netanyahu argues that Jordan's consent is not required.

IMRA commissioned a poll to see if reminding respondents of this difference
would impact their voting by asking respondents twice who they are voting
for and how certain they are that they will vote. They were asked these
questions once before being asked their opinion as to if Gantz or
Netanyahu's position on the Jordan Valley is correct and then again after
being asked the question.

The poll found that bringing this difference to the attention of the
respondents had no impact on either how respondents intend to vote or the
extent to which they intend to vote.

A breakdown of voting preferences for those who did not know if Gantz or
Netanyahu was correct on the Jordan Valley issue finds considerably fewer
Likud supporters than in the total sample (12.7% as compared to 24.6%) and
substantially more people who have yet to decide who they were voting for
(23.2% as compared to 10.8% of the total sample).

The following are the complete results:

Research Findings - IMRA Political Survey

General

On February 16-17, 2020, the Panels Research conducted a political research
study.
In the study, 502 respondents aged 18+ participated, representing a
representative sample for the Jewish population in the State of Israel.
The study was conducted through the Panel4all Internet Respondents panel.
Maximum sampling error: 4.3%.
Summary of the findings: No indication was found of a difference in voting
patterns or willingness to vote following the presentation of the two
leaders' views on sovereignty over the Jordan Valley.
