The Israeli lefties who dreamed of trading the Golan Heights for the
opportunity to eat hummus in Damascus never predicated this on a regime
change freeing Syria from the clutches of one of the greatest human rights
violators of our generation.

And they certainly had no qualms genuflecting to the murderous Palestinian
leadership anxious for them to become leaders of a sovereign state in the
middle of our living room.

Yet many of these same people find it appropriate to express disappointment
and concern over human rights conditions in each new Muslim country with which
we enter into diplomatic relations.
