Technical Note: 31% of Haredi men and 37% of Haredi women work full time

Technical Note: 31% of Haredi men and 37% of Haredi women work full time
Dr. Aaron Lerner 12 December 2022

Comparison of Haredi male labor force participation rates to those of
non-Haredi Jewish males age 25-64 (50% vs 87%) for purposes of policymaking
fail to capture the true picture because 35% of working Haredi men work part
time as compared to 13% of non-Haredi Jewish males.

We therefore find ourselves with considerably more dramatic results: 31%
of Haredi males work full time as compared to 76% of non-Haredi Jewish
males. 37% of Haredi women work full time as compared to 59% of non-Haredi
Jewish women.

Here are the complete results as reported on December 11th in the Hebrew
print edition of Haaretz using a June 2022 report of the Knesset Information
and Research Center based on data from the end of 2021:

Percent Employed Ages 25-64

Haredi men:
Full time 31%
Part time 19%
Not employed: 50%

Non-Haredi Jewish men:
Full time: 76%
Part time: 11%
Not employed: 13%

Haredi women:
Full time: 37%
Part time: 44%
Not employed: 19%

Non-Haredi Jewish women:
Full time 59%
Part time:: 24%
Not employed: 17%
