Observation: SVB Crash Presents Opportunity to Promote Israeli High-Tech
Dr. Aaron Lerner 11 March 2023
This Sunday will be a test of the Israeli "speedboat's" ability to quickly
address economic challenges. Before the world financial markets open on
Monday, we need to develop a program to ensure that Israeli companies, whose
center of activity is in Israel, weather the cash-flow crisis created by the
collapse of the American investment bank, Silicon Valley Bank (SVB).
By doing so, we can not only save the many Israeli companies impacted by the
SVB crash but also make it easier for Israeli companies to compete for
investment money in the future, demonstrating the added value of investing
in Israeli Hi-Tech.
Undoubtedly, some of the Israeli companies we help out may be led by people
who have taken high-profile positions threatening to tank our economy unless
judicial reform is immediately halted. However, the need to save and promote
our vital High-Tech industry takes precedence over other considerations.
