IDF forces are not allowed to shoot anyone who approaches the fence in Gaza
The IDF's opening fire instructions do not make it possible to enforce the
new perimeter that was announced at the beginning of the war.
Reservists to KAN News: "Our hands are tied as if there was no massacre

At the beginning of the war, the security establishment announced a new
security strip in the Gaza Strip at a depth of one kilometer from the border
with Israel. This was to prevent Palestinians from approaching the fence
for fear that they were disguised terrorists - as happened before the Hamas
attack on October 7. However, as was published this evening (Sunday) in the
KAN 11 evening news, the IDF's opening fire instructions have changed in the
last month so that they do not allow the new perimeter to be enforced.
Therefore, Palestinians approach the area of the fence in the Gaza Strip
when the fighters are not allowed to shoot at them. Reservists serving in
the Gaza Strip told KAN News: "Our hands are tied as if there was no
massacre here." The IDF stated in response: "The IDF is deployed along the
border fence with many forces and is working in a variety of ways to protect
the area. The opening fire instructions are orderly, and allow the forces to
remove any threat, with all the tools to preserve their lives."
