Weekly Commentary: $200 Million Plane Communications Apparently Paid Off
Dr. Aaron Lerner 1 August 2024
It may take years before the whole story is out, but it is reasonable to
assume that the kind of intensive discussions which Prime Minister Netanyahu
participated in during his flight back to Israel from America could not have
taken place while sitting in an El Al jet.
So. for the history books, the secure bandwidth featured on Wing of Zion
turned out to be of vital importance on the very first trip the prime
minister took on it.

Why Won't Netanyahu Hold Cabinet Meeting From Plane (Will when lands in
afternoon)
Dr. Aaron Lerner 27 July 2024
It was just announced that while Prime Minister Netanyahu is about to hold
urgent consultations via the telephone from his hotel in America, it was
also reported that Netanyahu will hold a meeting of the Cabinet when he
lands in Israel Sunday afternoon.
The Israeli taxpayers spent over $200 million so that our PM has a plane
outfitted with the equipment required to provide the secure bandwidth and
other equipment needed so that Netanyahu has an almost seamless interface
with the information he would rely on if he were sitting in the "Pit" - the
underground Command and Control Center in the Kirya in Tel Aviv.
I will cynically and painfully suggest that the main "benefit" of not
exploiting the capabilities of the plane to remotely hold the Cabinet
meeting in the coming hours is that It gives the Americans enough time to
not only warn us no to do anything but also come up with a tangible threat
of how the Biden Administration will punish the Jewish State if we
"overreact".
I fervently hope that the message about the delayed cabinet meeting is
designed to try and restore the element of surprise...
