Out of the options presented to him, the Prime Minister decided: phased
offensive in the north

The security establishment presented two options for military action against
Hezbollah: one involved a series of simultaneous strikes, and the other a
phased escalation. Israel's goal is to prevent a full-scale attack.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided that the extensive military
operations in Lebanon will be carried out in phases. This, with the goal of
trying to prevent an all-out war and to impose an agreement on the Hezbollah
terrorist organization - this was reported this evening (Monday) on the
evening news on Kan 11.
