"Change in Balance of Power" Can Bomb Lebanon Like Syria In Future

"Change in Balance of Power" To Point That Lebanon Like Syria For Destroying
Incoming Weapons
Dr. Aaron Lerner 24 September 2024

" The current situation will not continue. This requires a change in the
balance of power on our northern border."
PM Netanyahu's Remarks at the Start of the Government Meeting 15 September

It appears that PM Netanyahu means that we intend to reach a new "balance of
power" with Hezbollah in which we will not be deterred in the future from
destroying weapons within Lebanon.

This doesn't mean that we wipe out everything Hezbollah now has.

Just that whatever they have left doesn't tie our hands.

Put another way: that Lebanon has the same status as Syria.

When we don't like some cargo landing at Damascus International Airport we
blow it up.

Until now the same cargo landing in Beirut wouldn't be touched.

We've been doing this in Syria for many years - including when the Russians
had a heavy presence.

And rhetoric aside, no one in the world lost much sleep over this situation.

So it is hardly far-fetched that "Syria bombing rules" could be applied to
Lebanon.

Sure, there can be some nice "diplomatic solution" complete with a photo op.

But the real story for something that genuinely works is that the "balance
of power" is so tilted in our favor after this conflict that we can "mow the
grass" there so fast that it never even has a chance to grow.
